Q: How do you turn a pallet into beautiful piece of furniture? A: Ask Damian.

This young man was committed to making something useful during his 5-week private woodwork lessons. He set himself the challenge of making a coffee table from an industrial pallet for his living room. The whole thing was deconstructed and lovingly restored in an alternate form only after each plank had been carefully planed and sanded. The result is something that faithfully tells us of its humble origins and is now a beautiful and functional piece of furniture and an achievement of which Damien can always be proud.

  

Damian was already competent with a range of tools and equipment and showed a willingness to develop his skills further showing precision and quality in his practice. This willingness combined with an openness to new design ideas, offers this young designer/maker a bright future.
